  1. I know ITW switch products but what is ITW ActiveTouch?

  2. ITW Active Touch is probably the most durable and robust switching and sensing technology in the world. It’s only been around for a couple of years but is taking off fast. Their website has a video which explains how it works. Have a look at http://www.itwactivetouch.com.

  3. Active Touch? I have been looking at the 4×4 key pads, are these completely Vandal Proof? Can the keys be prized away from the unit?

  4. The 4×4 keypads are built around a single metal component. Although the key areas are raised to give a “button” style appearance, but they are not separate components so cannot be prised away from the unit.

  5. What about the screws on the keypad?

What is to stop anyone just unscrewing it?

  6. There are a number of types of tamper-proof screws and fasteners available from a variety of sources. If these are used, it makes it much more difficult for a vandal to remove the keypad.

  7. Hi Aerco

When you say vandal proof, how about attacks to ATM’s. Local chav’s seem to like nothing more than pulling off buttons, or smashing them into the unit.

    Can you beat the chav?

    Good Morning JR

Yep these can beat the ‘chavs’. The units are cast from one piece of metal so have no moving parts. The keys are touch sensitive and cannot be removed.
The worst that can happen is the paint on the engraved legends may be scratched but you would have to be a particularly inventive chav to try that.

    Best Regards

    Mike
